Trevor Steeples Trophy (26/04/15)
« on: 26/04/15, 21:09 »

Congratulations to Bash Maqsood who defeated Joe Reynolds 2-1 in the final of the Trevor Steeples Trophy on Sunday evening.  It was a dramatic final in which Reynolds went 1-0 up and then 50 points up in the second frame, only to make a few errors with the winning line in sight.  This let Maqsood back in to the match and all credit to him as he went on to make a 20+ break and then a 27 clearance to pinch the frame on the black.  A 41 break from Maqsood in the decider helped him on the way to his first tournament victory of the season (the only one he has played in!).

A good field of 26 players in this final one day tournament of the season and some cagey play gave us one of our latest finishes with the final ball being potted at 7.55pm.

Dave Jobling made the day's highest break of 69.

Many thanks to all players who competed in this seasonís one day tournaments.  Itís been a pleasure running them for you.

A huge thanks to Julian, Lynn and all of the staff at Spot On Cue Sports for their hospitality.

Well done to all tournament winners who have qualified for the Champions Cup.  Please make sure you keep Sunday 20th September 2015 free in your diaries, which is the date for the Champions Cup tournament.

See you all in September!
