Congratulations to Tom Goldstein who defeated Joe Reynolds 3-1 in the final of the Notts Under 25 Snooker Championship on Sunday evening.

Reynolds went 20 points ahead in the first frame, but Goldstein made a lovely 47 clearance to go 1-0 up.  Reynolds won the second frame by over 60 points, helped by a run of 22 which included two fluked reds!  Frame three was nip and tuck going into the colours but a nice yellow to pink break of 20 from Goldstein put him 2-1 ahead.  Goldstein remained very composed in the fourth frame and he steadily carved out a good lead which ultimately led to Reynolds conceding the frame.  It was impressive stuff from both players.

Sean Hopkin made the day's highest break of 67.  The defending champion got off to a slow start, losing his first two matches to the eventual finalists and this proved costly.

A huge thanks to Julian, Lynn and all of the staff at Spot On Cue Sports for their hospitality.

The penultimate tournament on the NBSA one-day calendar is the Trevor Steeples Trophy.  It will be held on 26th April 2015 at Spot On Cue Sports, Sneinton.
