Main Tournament
Leicester's Joe Jogia did not drop a frame as he won the BCI Open Snooker Tournament on Sunday together with the ?110 first prize and the ?10 high break prize.  Jogia won the best of 5 frame final 3-0 in under 40 minutes, helped by breaks of 70, 61 and 59.  It was an awesome display which his opponent in the final, Jordan Geldard, could do nothing about.  Geldard took home the ?50 runners-up prize.

Naser Hussain had a good day, earning himself ?20 for reaching the semi-finals.  In the other semi-final, Mark Hird played well, running Jogia closer than the 2-0 scoreline suggests.  In a practise frame prior to the final, Hird made a terrific 90 break which was luckily caught on film.

Plate Tournament
Lee Crombie who finished runner-up in the recent Spot-on Charity Tournament, picked up the ?30 first prize for winning the plate.  However he was pushed all the way by the impressive youngster Andrew Foster (?15) who only just lost on the black.

Many thanks to Steve Butler, who kindly dropped out of the competition on the day to run everything.
Steve did a fantastic job as usual and everyone commented on a great day and turnout.

Also thanks to Pete and Carol for the use of the tables and the facilities at BCI.

Excellent day had by all I'd say! A real mix of people from different areas of the country.

Once again, need I say it, first class organising by Steve Butler (and Wayne Martin), top marks!!

Came out of retirement to play (not played in a tournament for 2 years) and thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Steve & Wayne ran a fantastic tournament and really impressed that they filmed semi finals onwards displaying how professional the organisation was.

Great turnout (29 players) with players travelling from Derbyshire & Leicester to play.

Nottingham certainly puts Derby to shame in running tournaments and the enthusiasm displayed in your website and forum which I have just joined.  Can't wait for the next tournament.

A reminder to everyone in Nottingham that there is a tournament "The Derbyshire Open" @ Cueball Club, Derby this Sunday 22nd Feb - will be great to see some of you there

Sounds like a great tournament, sorry the usuals suspects from Phoenix could not be there, Myself, Ash, Ryan and others are booked solid in February playing in pool tournaments / county matches.

I hope we'll all be able to attend the next one.

Stephen.

The four of us from Leicester had a great day out last Sunday. I'd like to echo the other comments of the other posters; top website and great organisation from Steve and Wayne. Great set of players with no attitudes on show, Jimmy from Derby makes Bill Werbenik look tame! We'll definitley be coming up again.

Here is the Leicester website which is about ten years behind yours
