Please note the following rule change for the 2010/11 season which was agreed at the EGM held on 8 April 2010.

B. General Playing Rules

11.   There will be no postponements except in exceptional circumstances, eg. bad weather.  Any request for a postponement must be made to the League Secretary at least 24 hours prior to the fixture.

12.   Any team that fails to fulfill their fixture shall forfeit the match 8-0 to the opposing team.  The offending team will also have 2 points deducted from their points tally as a penalty.

Can we postpone our match Tuesday 23rd November?

Eastwood Christmas Lights Switch on, all the roads and car parks are closed.

Steve Butler

I'm not sure you have given enough notice there Stephen!

Seriously though, that will fall under exceptional circumstances so it wouldn't be a problem.

I cant remember '2 point deduction' for a postponement being agreed/voted at the E.G.M. ! ! !

The penalty has been in place since 2008 (see attached minutes).

I wasn't at the EGM so I don't know if it was agreed that the 2 point penalty would no longer be applied.  I recall that the purpose of the penalty was to encourage teams to play a match with 4 or 5 players rather than just not turn up at all.

If the EGM agreed that the penalty would no longer apply I will amend the rules accordingly.  Let me know please.

Alan Cunningham

Sorry, cant remember exactly.
