Rule Change 1 - Substitutes

Please note the following rule change for the 2010/11 season which was agreed at the EGM held on 8 April 2010.

B. General Playing Rules

9.   Any club entering more than one team in the league may use substitutes in league matches (excluding play-offs) on the following terms:

i)   A player with a handicap of +14 or greater (eg. +21, +28 etc) may play for another team from the same club providing those teams are in different divisions.  These players are referred to as "substitutes".
ii)   A division 1 player who is playing as a substitute for a division 2 team shall concede 21 points start to his opponent.
iii)   A substitute can only play one frame per night (he cannot play for more than one team on the same night and he cannot play a singles and a pairs frame).
iv)   This rule applies in league matches only (excluding end of season play-offs), not in cup matches.
v)   There is no limit to the number of players who can act as substitutes on any one night.
vi)   There is no limit to the number of times a player can act as substitute during the season.
