Steve Howard

played at spot on bulwell 13/04/2010

Frame 1: steve got the match underway,an early safety exchange commenced both players seeking that elusive loose shot to get in the balls . . .
after a time both players had potted reds with colours and as 1 player got a clear lead the other would pull it back.cary first to compile a 30 break, only for steve to knock in a small 24 break but enough to pull the deficit back . . .

It was now 52 points each with only pink & black left, steve in going all out for the pot hit it too thick and thought he'd leave an easy pot on,but lady luck smiled on steve and it fluked into the centre pocket, just needing the black now and steve was faced with needing 2 keep the black safe as it was on the top cush' and white was tight on bottom cushion, steve knew what he wanted to do but with pace caught it too thick and it headed down the table for the corner green pocket it started to slow and just as steve thought he was gonna leave it,it dropped so a fluked black,2 flukes in succession wins the 1st frame for steve

Frame 2: cary broke off feeling a little dejected to say the least at losing the 1st frame by 2 back 2 back flukes,i did obviously apologise as of course you would, i woulda loved to have potted them cleanly rather than fluke them, but that's snooker we all get them. Tonight lady luck was on my side, and i just got the running i s'pose. I continued potting good balls,as was cary, but neither of us hitting the sort of form we'd like to have been in,and in this frame i managed to get a good lead, and at the colours stage, cary needing a snooker or two, clearly despondent at losing the previous frame still . . .cary couldn't get the snooker/s he needed and so steve took the 2nd frame to record the win on the night

Sorry bout the flukes cary but we do all get them  . . .from time to time . . .

No . . ., no one can compete with 'maurice' when it comes to flukes,he his the king of them, but i just wish people wouldn't take them to heart, and go on and on about it when your opponent gets flukes,it happens to us all,u just have to deal with it . . .don't you?

It's all part of snooker the game we all play, 4 one reason only  . . .'we love it' and we all enjoy it so much more when we hit form or a big break . . .it just makes you feel good, whether i win or lose my love for this great game 'will never diminish'

If you have flukes against you,you don't need to be bringing it up all night long,it happens,it's happened against me many times losing to flukes, but because of the ranting and raving over flukes last night my enjoyment for the evening was lost . . .

Well done Steve looking forward to our Junior Final on May 10th I just wish it wasn't at the BCI Club.

I never play well there but i'll not use that as an excuse should I lose it should be a good match.

I hate getting flukes really, but after watching Maurice,i think i've learned from him so tell him thanks when you next see him lol!!

I had a few in the match with Cary but he had his chances as well as i did,but a little luck here and there happens in most frames that people play, don't they?
