Despite winning the first two frames against Robert Milkins, Nottingham's Michael Holt lost the match 3-5 to end his hopes of a trip to China.

Round 3
Anthony Hamilton lost 4-5 to a rejuvenated Tony Drago who then went on to beat Stephen Lee in round 4 to qualify for the final stages in China.

Mansfield's Lee Spick went out in round 1 to Ian Preece.

So there ends the Nottingham interest in the tournament!
