Pegasus 'B' 4-4 Oakleigh Lodge

Eric Towle was the Pegasus hero as he salvaged an unlikely point in the final frame of the match against Tej Lees.  Trailing by some 25 points going into the colours Towle sunk Yellow and Green only to see Lees pot the brown to leave Towle requiring a snooker.  The Pegasus youngster hung in there though playing some excellent safety shots and was rewarded when his opponent inadvertantly caught the wrong side of the pink and sent the cue ball into the pocket.  Towle with ball in hand potted an excellent long pink before forcing Lees into a poor safety on the black to give himself an opportunity to win the match which he duly did by potting another superb long Black into the heart of the pocket.  Earlier at Oakleigh, Jason Turner got the home team off to a great start by beating Mike Langdon in a tight frame.  Rob Selby soon made it two nil to Oakleigh by finishing strongly against Daniel Norton whilst a very attacking frame between Pegasus's Chris Mathers and Adam Robinson was won well by the Oakleigh man.  At Pegasus the scoreline was reversed, Steve 'The Force' Booth enjoyed a good win against Ryan Cooper but Steve Roe responded for Oakleigh against Andy Orange in the second frame.  Ken Michell making a rare home appearance put Pegasus back in front with a close victory over Oakleigh skipper Spider Wilkinson.  Andy Orange made up for his lacklustre performance in the singles frame with an excellent display of potting in the pairs frame for a 3-1 leg win.

Well played Oakleigh and best of luck for your semi final next week.

Great performance from Eric.

Well done to our saviour!  Superb play under pressure (do you feel pressure?) to clinch the frame. :bravo: :bravo:

After Mike lost his frame and then I played a stinker to throw away a decent lead I did fear the writing was on the wall.  The away score put a lot of pressure on our young guns, especially not knowing what scoreline back at Pegasus was at that stage.  Oakleigh were determined to make the most of their lead and played a solid home leg.

Enter Eric 'The Messiah' Towle.  I can't help feeling a little sorry for Tej with the in off, but that's snooker I guess.  Great finish Eric. :welldone:

More points dropped in the race for second though!  Oakleigh did  more than enough to earn  at least a draw.  No reports yet for the other games so not sure what the significance of that result is?

Breaking News:  Wollaton RBL 5-3 Nottingham Uni.

Very significant after all.  Can Pegasus B make a late run for the title after closing to within 3 points  of the leaders?
