Pete Gormley was in good form and he raced into a 1-0 lead against last season's handicap singles runner-up Barry Stark.

Gormley was also on course to take the second frame but Stark managed to pinch it to level the match.

Stark then turned on the style making a 68 break in the third frame followed by a fine 62 break in the final frame.  Both breaks could have been centuries but he was unlucky to run out of position on the next red in both.

Congratulations to Barry who will now face Tom Walters in the last 16 at Beeston Snooker Hall.
