Ok here's the frame scores for the Phoenix Home side:
(breaks in brackets)

Frame 1:     joe trout 55 v 31 r.benson
joe not really playing the good snooker he was in the 'warm up', prior to his 'match' frame, with his opponent potting some good balls.joe when returning to the table found not much to go at,alot of reds and colours had all found their way on to cushions.
Still,despite a scrappy looking table,joe managed,i think a 17 break,missing an easy black to continue the break,but eventually won

Frame 2:    Steve Howard 83 (49) v 30 A.Winson
Great! frame for Steve, after some good safety exchanges by both players,it was A.Winson who let in Steve from a poor safety, which left Steve right in the reds at the business end of the table.Steve from his initial red was on his way,it was only when the cueball ran further than intended, that he was on a slighty awkward blue, stretching to try to pot it,this resulted in a missed blue and the break broke down on,what was still a great break,of 49. A.Winson potting some of the last few balls to add points for his team.

Frame 3:    Gary Birks 64 v 48 C.Barton
Altho' the frame score would suggest otherwise,it was a scrappy table, with not alot for gary to go at,balls finding their way on to cushions,
but gary knocked in reds with as many high value colors as he could,i think he was also surprised at the balls his opponent was potting from an almost upright stance, amazing! still, both players potting and gary a little bemused that the score was this close! Gary held on to win which mattered, but points mattered more, and this was firmly in all our minds!

Frame 4: Steve Howard/G.Birks 55 v 33 A.Winson/R.Benson
A frame which see-sawed one way then another, all 4 players potting when they had chances,no breaks to speak of in this frame,as again balls were not ideally placed, but Steve and Gary did enough for the win,but both wanted and needed a much bigger frame score win!

Enjoyed playing the Wollaton lads again, and well played in a friendly team spirit  :bravo:
Over to Mr. Stephen Lally who has the Wollaton half of the scores,he will post the full aggregate scores and report from the Wollaton venue
All yours Stephen . . .

The match between Arnold B and Beeston was postponed because Arnold could not field a team.  I am hoping it will be played either next week or the week after.

Arnold need to score 433 points (not including handicap) to qualify above Wollaton but that won't be easy against Beeston.  Beeston need to score 515 points to qualify.  Should be interesting!

Looks like we didnt do enough on our travels at wollaton! I always enjoy going to there club. The table is good, although far too tight pockets for a man of my limited ability! I made a 23 and felt like i knocked in a 50+!!! I somehow lost my singles on the black, Steve Lally started well, but fell away towards the end to lose by 20+ points, and Roger also lost in a scrappy tight frame. Me and steve had a word with ourselves and won the doubles, but a good 3-1 for wollaton, and more importantly, won by the 3 points overall! Well done lads, back to league survival for us then!

It's easy to underestimate Wollaton on their own table, as we found out recently too.  Hard luck Phoenix.
