Mike Langdon

Mike 'lucky' Langdon bagged his place in the 3rd Round with the kind of outrageous fluke he has become infamous for in Nottingham's snooker circles.  Having cleared down from the yellow i left myself a difficult long black which i totally butchered only to watch with glee as it came back up the table at a good pace and bounce off the baulk cushion, travelled back down just avoiding a kiss with the cue ball and dropped in the opposite pocket!!! originally the black was a good foot away from the pocket so it was actually a 25 foot match winning black....yes i am embarrassed but i'll take it

The opening frame was probably the best of the match.  i built up a 24 lead with a knock of 17 + my handicap of 7 before Crosswell responded with a good 32 break.  Both players were scoring freely in what was a high scoring frame but i managed to sneak it potting pink and black to win the frame 72-64.

in the second frame Crosswell stamped his authority on the match with several good runs including a 30 break to leave langdon needing snookers on the colours to level the match.

Sorry mate

Wasnt quite the only fluke of the 3 frames either was it!

Dont matter if i took my chances would have done better but you did a fine clearance apart from the knuckle for the brown and rammed black! ha.
But did pot well through the match anyway.

All the best next round mate  :welldone:

yep you're quite right....think my first two attempts during the match were both fluked and nearly made it a hat-trick on the third!...perhaps the writing was on the wall as early as that.  Definetely had a good run of the balls last night...but you kind of need that when playing opponents of a higher calibre.

Just hope i've not used all my luck up for the tournament...although i'm sure i have plenty in reserve  ;)

Cheers

Great result Mike.  Hard luck Stu, but what can you do? :bravo:

You have to be one of the favourites for the trophy if your luck holds, which it undoubtably willl.  I was going to say do you make it up but I've witnessed it so many times I know you aren't.  If you made it up nobody would believe it anyway.  Thank God you play in the same team as me.

Wayne, you knew exactly what you were doing pairing up with Mike.  Good move mate.  If you can't buy it...
