Pegasus A produced a solid win over City Hospital (+240) to open their account in the NHSL knockout Cup.

Solid wins at home and away kept the dangerous City Hospital at bay.

At Pegasus:

Chris Brooks 88 v Rob Wallace 43
Brooks produced a solid frame, getting the home team off to a good start with a 45 point victory.

Jamie Mathers 85 v Sean Croft 25
Recent Century maker Mathers added to the great start by producing a solid win over the ever improving Sean Croft.

James Booth 30 v Jordan Parnham 71
The ever improving Parnham produced an excellent win over the Pegasus man and getting his team back into the match.

Jamie Mathers/Chris Brooks 98 v Rob Wallace/Lee Archer 18
Brooks getting back to his normal consistent break building best with a 45 break in the pairs frame.

Aggregate:
Pegasus 301
City Hospital 157

At City Hospital:

Dave Buckley 27 v Wayne Martin 84
Martin controlled the frame with three 20+ breaks with Buckley suffering an off night.

Les Smith 21 v Danny Castel-Nuovo 82
Castel-Nuovo gave Smith very little chance in this frame and was constantly making double figure breaks in taking the frame comfortably.

R Kirk 34 v Zeb Ahmed 66
Ahmed producing his normal brand of fireworks based snooker in this convincing win. Kirk getting very little opportunity amongst the balls but firing in some great pots during the frame.

Chris Willett/John Bakewell 30 v Wayne Martin/Danny Castel-Nuovo 73
Martin and Nuovo having a little too much experience for the city hospital lads in this one-sided frame.
Some fantastic potting by Bakewell towards the end with a terrific Brown and Blue that showed the potential quality of these players.

Aggregate:
Pegasus 305
City Hospital 111

Overall: Pegasus (606) v City Hospital (268)

I'll await confirmation from Rob Wallace, City Hospital captain, before I update the group A table.

Good win Wayne! Looks like you sailed to victory!!! I tell you what mate, those Oakleigh Lodge lads were tough yesterday! Not a bad side if I had to be honest to be getting the max start! Jason Bettridge winning against a 30+ break at home! They will feel robbed not winning yesterday with that start and with that team!!!

Thanks for that report Wayne it was certainly a tough match but a few of our lads said they enjoyed playing against some 1st div opposition even in defeat.

Steve - all those scores are correct according to my sheet.

Cheers
Rob.

Thanks Rob.  I'm glad your team enjoyed playing top class players for a change.  It's a sure-fire way to improve you know!

509 is not a bad score either.  Now that you've got Pegasus out of the way, if you can score around 600 in your next two matches, I reckon you could make the semis of either the KO Cup or Plate for sure.

Just tell your team to score as many points as they can....
